Okay, after 5 hard days of moving and 3 storages later we made it out. As soon as I get back into town and into the rental I'm ready to proceed with elderly protective services but I haven't heard from them. Now I know they were going to try to talk to him about the deed and probate court, sale of house and taxes that I paid to keep it off auction. It's been about 2 weeks ago that they opened an investigation. Has anyone ever dealt with a time frame on when EPS starts and will they still have to question my mom and I too before closing a case? Just wondering about my next step if not EPS.

Dear Lisa,

I'm not really sure about the timeframe with Elder Protective Services. Have you tried calling their office and following up on a timeframe? I wonder if you could also consult a social worker, or the office of Aging, or an elder law attorney. I wish so much things would move more quickly, I hope you get the answer you need.

I dealt with APS from last year august till december when they referred the case to the DA,s office about elder abuse from one son. Nothing was done by the DA,s office with many calls, so here it is april with the abuser getting away scott free...not impressed with the state APS office.

Did they question Everyone before turning it over to D.A.? What type of abuse case? Exploitation, physical,or fraudulently deprived?

APS talked to all 3 of us sons, especially the younger one with poa who misused mom,s money over 4 years and now claims it is all gone(apps $600,000). He quit paying her bills last august and still keeps her SS check. We contacted SSA, but as of yet they have done nothing, guess it takes a while to chase down all SS abuse reported.
