Could you ask the person who drove you to the hospital or did you go by ambulance? I know sometimes it is hard to ask friends to help as you do not want to intrude.

Another idea is to hire a caregiver from an Agency for the day to drive you home and stay with you for a few hours to make sure you are back on your feet.

Call the Macon, Georgia public transit agency and ask about point to point trips. In my area, the fee a few years ago was $1.00 each way, within a 10 mile radius from your home. Pickups began at 7 am.

It's not the more personal service, but it's cheap.
