It varies from patient to patient. Example, my Mom refused to have Caregivers in the house, she would shoo them all out... she even refused me gifting to her a cleaning crew to come every other week to clean [my gosh, if I was gifted that I would be at the front door welcoming them in].
After my Mom passed, I got Caregivers for my Dad, he really enjoyed having them there, didn't complain at all... extra ears to listen to all his stories... and it made him feel so much safer.
This is an interesting question. Sometimes our loved ones are just stubborn or shy,,, and sometimes... (even though rarely), the caregiver may not be the ideal match for your parent.
If you feel they are nice and caring, they probably are... and perhaps it just takes a little time for them to adjust.
