Find Care & Housing
Start with asking your hospice provider. Be aware that Medicare will not pay for the room and board part of the facility so either it will be private pay or Medicaid for the hospice facility charges for room and board.

As the person before me stated Medicare won't pay for room, however if your hospice doctor says there is a medical need, they will. Also don't forget about your respite time! That can be up to 5 days of inpatient care. You may have to pay a 5% copay, but that's only $10-15 on the average. Talk to your hospice socal worker.

All you have to do is discuss it with your hospice provider, then chose a facility. They will coordinate transfer. Repeating what was said, the facility cost is out of pocket. I am currently paying $2219 per week, already over $10,000 but I have paid thru the end of next week. I keep convincing myself if I pay mom will stay with me longer. Good luck.
