If I cannot work to stay home with my elderly mom can I get paid by Medicare or some other agency?

In some states, Medicaid (not Medicare) will pay a stipend for you to care for a parent at home. It isn't likely to replace your work income, however. You can check with the Family Caregiver Support Program on your state's website and see if you can find out some local resources. Good luck,
