As long as you meet the following criteria you can apply for a boiler grant: You have a gas boiler over 8 years old or one that is broken. You own your own home or are a tenant living in privately rented accommodation You’re in receipt of Pension Credit or Are 60 years old or more and receive Working Tax Credit Live in England, Scotland or Wales. Call your energy supplier for more information.
I think by the use of "pensioner" you're either in Canada or the UK. If so, hopefully the members here from those countries will help with suggestions.
In the US, Habitat for Humanity might help, as well as some organizations like Christmas in April, but I don't know if they operate outside of the US.
