Yes. Be sure it get one. Mom had the beginnings of a skin ulcer just below her coccyx bone. I was scared to death, having done wound dressing for her in the past for a skin graft. (It didn't form, thank goodness.)
The visiting nurse told me the BEST gel cushion was available free through Medicare, if one qualified for a wheelchair. We ordered the wheelchair just for the cushion. Having seen it, though, I'm sending the wheelchair back. Waste to have Medicare pay for it just for the cushion.
I'm going to get one from Bed, Bath & Beyond -- same brand -- the 16" x 16" cushion is $28.99. Looks exactly like the one that came with the wheelchair free.
