has anytime encountered their parent having frequent utis. My mom can’t seem to get rid of them. New prob is her hygenine. No matter how many times I wipe her I see feces on her and the toilet seat. She has a raised toilet bc of hip probs but maybe toilet set too small idk, but whole issue is a big prob.

Please know that hygiene is only one reason for UTIs. As women age, they change physiologically. This means their bladders cannot fully void as they used to. Next, their pH changes, also creating a perfect environment for UTIs.

Once your Mom is clear of an infection, consider giving her maintenance D-Mannose. This is a simple sugar supplement (buy it on Amazon.com) that has no side effects and doesn't interact with other medications. I began giving it to my MIL's facility to give to her daily because she was having the same problem as your Mom. It has reduced her number of UTIs to almost 0 annually, after having them almost twice a month. I am NOT a person who has much faith in supplements for reasons I won't get into here. But personal experience makes me recommend this to you as one solution.

Is your mother on any medications? Many have UTIs as side effects. Get her on a good probiotic daily and dmannose daily that should help a lot.
