83 yo mom, Type 1 diabetic, lives with me. I need a day away. The amount is variable with each meal (blood glucose sliding scale + number of carbs in meal.) She cannot fill the syringes because her sight is severely compromised, and because of a small stroke, she cannot figure out the scale nor the carbs. She has great anxiety if I even hint at temporary respite care in a care facility. My marriage is suffering and I'm feeling resentful over something that is not her fault at all!

Find Care & Housing
Have you spoken to her doctor about home care? I think a nurse would be the best person to administer the insulin, even if you find a caregiver who's familiar with how to do it.
