Find Care & Housing
Go to the local police department with all the evidence you've collected on the financial exploitation. The police can also subpoena evidence from the bank at which the online account was opened. Unless there are other facts involved, this would appear to be a criminal act.

Can your mother tell you whether or not she's executed a DPOA? If not, you may have to get access to her checking account statements and look through them for evidence of payment to an attorney.

I don't understand though nor does it make any sense that your mother's doctor would write a script for your brother, unless he's treating with him/her as well. Doctors don't just write scripts for relatives or people who aren't patients.

How did you find out your brother is taking Methadone?

He has made no secret of using methadone he has to go to the clinic daily. He takes my mother to her appointments and he told that her doctor prescribed him Xanax . The doctor is the one that told him that he should get power of attorney. My brother is a master at manipulation. I am pretty sure he doesnt know he is on methadone. I was able to actually see all the withdraws from my mothers account. I have been trying to get him out of the house but he has a free ride. My mother is getting to the point where she needs her daughter taking care of her bathing, and well just things my brother just cant do. It is so frustrating for me. I love my brother but he has just gone to far.

Tlee, may I ask how you are finding out about these things? Is your mother telling you this? Why I asked is that I noticed that on your profile you say that your mother has Alzheimer's/dementia, and patients with these memory issues will make up stories to get attention.

Plus no doctor will prescribe medicine for a person who isn't their patient, and only after doing an exam plus blood test.

As for the inheritance, never ever count on it. It can go quickly if and when your Mom needs an extra layer of care in her old age.

FF, I too am waiting for the answer on how the brother was able to get medicine prescribed by his mother's doctor.

And as to the methadone, it sounds as if he's trying to kick his habit, or he wouldn't be taking methadone and reporting daily to a clinic.
