Honestly, I have no clue what type of dementia gramaw has. But, I give her vit. D, cocoa and coconut oil daily. :D I figure if it only makes me fill good about doing something, then I am doing the right thing. But, someone mentioned Teepa Snow and so I watched some videos and learned a lot. Seems I was doing most everything wrong. ( sigh)
But, I got to wondering. Or was I actually woundering? Eh!
Has any research been done on transferring the files to the side of the brain that stays alive? I would very much appreciate any advice on good informative reads concerning dementia.

Go to the Alzheimer website, they have info on AD (Alzheimers Disease) and many other dementias. Also read the excellent book "What If Isn't Alzheimers?", edited by Lisa Radin and her son. It helps to know what kind of dementia you're dealing with so you recognize the symptoms. You can get plenty of info on Vitamin D on the web. I'm testing low for it. My dr recommended taking twice the amount listed on the bottle, so I now take 4000 units per day. I also make it a point to get 15 minutes of sunshine outside each day. I do that in the yard with the dogs and that makes all of us happy.

I applaud anyone's keeping herself up to date and informed about developments in the treatment and management of dementia, good for you. But the only expert in the latest developments in your grandmother is you, and that's just as important. So a note of caution: watch and learn (especially from the wonderful Teepa), but don't ignore your instincts - or rely on your grandmother's following the text book!

Hmm. I know I answered this but my reply is gone...
How much vit. D is to much? And yea, I do need to switch out the cocoa. Love coconut oil for lots of stuff.
Is there a good source for reading and keeping up with dementia studies?

Be careful with Vitamin D, too much will make her feel rotten. Coconut oil is very good for brain and skin health. Cocoa? Dark chocolate would be better than cocoa powder or sugary hot chocolate, good for heart health.
There is no method for transferring files and each side of the brain has separate and distinct functions. Basically, the left side of the brain controls the right side of the body and movements are coordinated across the brain.
