Looking for a support group of other caregivers. We become quite isolated and have no one to talk to that understands the challenges of caring for others. We seem to become insignificant and used up. And yet caring for others is a rewarding job. Would love to meet others in Tampa thast relate to this "unique life" :)

alittlewornout, it isn't easy to find a caregiver support group as those who would benefit from such a meeting, they just don't have the time to get away to attend. Or couldn't find a sitter to help out while attending the meeting.

Do you feel that you had to give up your lifestyle in order for others to continue with their own? I felt that way with my very elderly parents who still lived in their house. I wasn't hands-on, was logistical, because I was a senior citizen myself. It was the most difficult time of my life that was 7 years long, and create health issues for myself :(

Not sure what kind of caregiving you are providing, but if it's for a dementia patient the Byrd Alzheimer's center on the USF campus has a caregiver support group that meets the first Thurs of every month.

Well I am despondent now --taking care of seniors and living in has now put me in a very insecure situation. I have to find a new job and move in 30 days... seems like I give and give and end up with no way to survive financially.
