We are unhappy with our family doctor. How do we find one who understands the elderly patient?

Our former family doctor quit his practice and the new one seems overwhelmed by his increased practice. He has little patience with our concerns and so far is just a pill-pusher.

A geriatrician is like a pediatrician, a doctor who specializes in the needs of certain age group. This is a wonderful opportunity for you, ernest, to find a geriatrician to be your parents' primary care provider.

My parents have both used the same family doctor for decades. He is less than competent. They refuse to leave him so I have scheduled appts with as many specialists as possible, making the family doc less relevant.
