You get your feet on the ground in Georgia and listen to all the facts, all the history of what they have been through before you decide anything.

Does your Uncle and his girlfriend live in Georgia near your Dad and they are helping take care of him? Did your Dad live with them, or has your Dad been living on his own? Who has been caring for him? Taking him to doctor appointments? Getting his groceries? Maintaining his home? Apparently his health is to a point where he needs 24-hour care and the best place would be in a continuing care facility.

Do you wish to have your Dad move to Kentucky so that you can care for him? Are you able to do that? How would you handle 24-hour care? You'd be doing the work of three trained professionals. Or hiring Caregivers to help your Dad.

As for taking his stuff, your Dad wouldn't need everything in his home if he will be living in a care facility. What should the Uncle do with your father's personal items, furniture, etc? Do you want it? You might want to spend some time talking with your Uncle and actually visiting with them to learn more about what is going on.
