Don't think it's gone yet, but in order to get urine checked have to be screened at hospital and then register and walk to the other end to drop off urine. Very stressful!! Last time her Dr was supposed to send antibiotics to pharmacy and wasn't there. Called and talked to Dr on call from another place and was told antibiotics supposed to be sent wouldn't have gotten rid of her certain bacteria. UGH!!!! So primary care Dr and Dr on call ended up sending in prescriptions. Gave my mom what I thought would kill bacteria but seems like she still has infection. She has advanced dementia and hates to take meds so I have to crush morning ones and put in food. Lately she at times won't eat and I have to feed her. She sleeps for a lot of afternoon and lately when time to eat dinner she isn't hungry. She waits a while then eats. She's just not the same and I don't know if dementia is progressing. Don't have any regular help except from my brother as I cancelled little help we were receiving as too afraid people may infect my mom. She hates her evening meds but have managed for her to take them after much stress. I love her dearly and don't want her in a NH with coronavirus and she would hate being there anyway. Don't know if it's time for hospice or if from recurring UTI's. I'm so extremely sad. I want to do what's best for my mom. I love her so much and she's really so sweet and loving, but also so sick. Thinking of calling her Dr but with this covid he's not too helpful. One time was told to take her to emergency room but then I also read try not to take to any appointment as too contagious with virus. I'm no spring chicken. Close to 70!! Any suggestions??? Thanks to all.
Also want to say, she won't drink much in liquids. Try our best. Watermelon, popsicles, etc. Think this could be a problem too.
