Find Care & Housing
This isn't my area, but you should be able to find good general advice online: NHS Choices is reliable and easy to follow, you could try that?

Making sure that your father drinks and doesn't become dehydrated is more important than food in the short term; but if I were you I would go back to the doctor and ask if your father has perhaps suffered a relapse or, God forbid, other complications. He may need further treatment.

When you say your father has dementia, are you sure he is not just delirious because of the fever?

I know your father must be your main concern right now; but please please do make sure you're taking great care of yourself too while you nurse him.

bhau123, looks like we were writing at the same time. Sounds like there are no emergency rooms in your area, and that you would need an air emergency services to another city. Are there any walk-in medical clinics in your area?

Bhau, thanks for updating us. I looked up your city; looks like it's fairly close to the Himalayas and surrounded by a lot of other towns, but over 100 miles away from Delhi, so ambulance service might not have been as available as I had assumed.

This is not a criticism at all but I'm wondering if tified means typhoid? I'm glad it's over though.

You wrote that an apparent IV with glucose drip wasn't helpful. Is your father in a hospital now or did you bring him home?

I hope the doctor was able to offer some suggestions about not eating.

Thank you for reaching out from so far away to seek help from us.

Bhau, if you're still on line, call EMS as FF suggests; don't try to take your father to the ER yourself.

Be certain to tell the ER doctors that this noneating episode happened after a fever. Did you find out why he had a fever? Has he had any treatment for it?

Did you take him to a doctor or ER? If not, go to the ER now. If he's been w/o food for 9 days, he's probably in desperate need of medical assistance.

They can bring in a swallowing expert or others to determine if there's any kind of obstruction, if he has dysphagia, or what. I'm not as familiar with dementia side effects, such as dysphagia, and that may be what he has. If so, you need to know that and address it - his diet can be changed to softer foods that he can swallow.

But go RIGHT NOW to the ER. You shouldn't have waited this long.
