My wife and I will be traveling for business?

Find Care & Housing
As to your tax question, unless the two of you are partners or both hold positions in the business which require both of you to travel, I'm thinking that a tax allowance for both of you might not be allowable.

Also, in the other post you indicated that the father is "about to die". Given that you need a caregiver, I'm wondering if it's appropriate to discuss placement in a hospice so the father isn't alone when he dies and at least has some palliative care.

Boy, am I confused!

In this post, with the same screen name, one of your introductory post comments is, and I assume you're referring to your father:

https://www.agingcare.com/questions/need-help-My-brother-and-I-are-listed-as-equal-beneficiaries-for-my-fathers-estate-186482.htm

"He is almost 94 and has lived with me and my husband for 8 years. (God bless my husband.)"

Now in this post you refer to "my wife and I" and your father-in-law.

If this is some gender bending, that's okay - I'm not being judgmental. I'm just trying to figure out what the situation is, and in the other post, is it your brother or your wife's brother who's the noncontributory sibling who inherits 1/2 of the estate?

I think you and your wife are posting under the same screen name; is that it? If so, it is a little bit confusing trying to keep track of the family members.

Or maybe my brains's been scrambled by too much chocolate.

Sure, as long as you don't get audited. Personally, if it were me? I'd expense it figuring I could make a very strong argument for it if I WERE audited.

Imr, you would need to contact your Accountant to see if you can claim an "expense" toward your business for this cost.
