When I applied for my Mom the caseworker sat with me. I brought everything I could think of. Filling out forms for me was not new. I had helped nephew with his Medicaid for health and his housing voucher and SS disability. He asked the questions, I gave the answers. He took copies of the paperwork I had. He gave me a paper with a list of things I still needed to get. As I got the info needed, I emailed them. When I was done my list I called to make sure he had everything he needed, he said, yes and processed the application. This was in June, Medicaid started in July. If the caseworker had found any problems I couldn't have resolved I would have then contacted a lawyer. I think its better when your involved with the process. Your understand it all better. But I am not one to rely on other people doing their jobs correctly or in a timely manner. Been there.

There are agencies that can navigate the ins and outs of Medicaid applications. They do this for a fee. Many lawyers also do the same thing. Basically what they do is make sure the application is complete, all possible reasons an application is denied are taken care of prior to the application being submitted. This means that they have fewer rejections and this helps the acceptance process.
It is up to you to decide if the fee charged is worth it.

I would not think they are government. Probably somehow linked into the Medicaid site. I would be leary. Would ask Medicaid if they know the Center. Medicaid applications are not that hard and you can always call a caseworker. Yes, I did have a lawyer because there may have been a problem with Moms house and my nephew being able to continue to reside there. But otherwise I did the foot work and the follow up.

I don’t know how these places work. I did research on my own when looking.

Maybe someone else will be familiar. I suppose that a fee is collected.
