I don't think any of us ever get answers to the Big Question -- why do bad things happen to good people? But there are answers to questions like "What do I do next?" The answer in this case is Take action to get professional help.

It is good to come here and vent and cry and share your pain. Sometimes that is enough to help a caregiver face the next day. But no matter how much we care and how many cyber hugs we exchange, you need to take action right where you live. Your question says it. You have done everything you can. Now it is time to allow one of the many services that exist for this purpose to come into the picture and do what they can. Your husband deserves it. You deserve it.

Do it!

54, I don't know if you are asking us for permission to place him somewhere, but many of us have given you suggestions.. we do worry about your situation and worry for your safety... only you can make the decision. we can support that decision and be here for you, You already have your own answer.. get some help to follow thru. There are agencies all over the place to help you... let us know how things turn out. We do think of you often, but the final choice is yours.. I don't know if you are afraid, maybe you will have to get some help with that first, then you can make a more informed choice... hugs to you.

Dear Jane, If you have done everything you can for your husband, perhaps it is time to bring in ourside help. It sounds like you are past the point where you can do this alone. Dementia is a cruel, cruel disease to those that have it and to those who live with them and love them. Maybe the answer, or part of the answer is to put the situation in the hands of professionals before you do slip away.

What is your current situation? What specific answers do you need?

Hugs to you.
