Georgina, your thread and profile don't provide enough information to respond accurately to your questions, unfortunately.

Are you a Veteran?  Wife of a Veteran?   The qualification issue is the first to be addressed.

The VA has complicated rules for qualification.    If you are a Veteran or wife of one, the first thing to do is get qualified by enrolling for VA coverage.  This can be done at a local County VA office, or a VA hospital complex.

If your profile listed your location, we could help you find one, but it doesn't, so search for VA facility, or VA hospital, in your area, then contact them to find out how to get qualified.

Once that happens, you'll be able to ask for help determining what support you could get.

This site provides some information on day care:
https://www.va.gov/GERIATRICS/pages/Adult_Day_Health_Care.asp

But you still need to be qualified for care first.

Good luck with this; dealing with the VA takes time and patience, but it's worth it in the long run, as least that's been my experience.
