New Jersey has community Medicaid. There are rules as to who qualifies and limits as to how much care is provided.

Google New Jersey Community Medicaid or NJ Medicaid home care. Look for official NJ sites snd large law firms, read info from several to better understand income limits, asset limits, which assets are exempt etc.

You can contact your Area Agency on Aging. Each county has one. They can help you with next steps.

Yes NJ does pay for aides but, the person needs to meet the criteria income wise. Monthy income has to be under the cap and I think there is an asset cap like 2k. Three years ago my Aunt was able to get 8 hrs a day. Not sure if weekends are covered.

The cost of one-on-one around the clock aides 24/7 is much greater than care in a facility where the costs are shared. That’s why it’s very rare for Medicaid to meet the cost of in-home care.

You need to contact your Medicaid. If you are looking for lots of hours, I highly doubt it. For custodial care, most families hire assistance. Each state is diferent and usualy it is for a couple of hours but not daily.
