In my instance, for LTC, NJ gives 90 days from filing to get them the info needed and to find a facility. With Healthcare, you apply and if excepted, I think they went back 30days. So any healthcare bills my nephew had within that 30days they paid for.

Not that I know of in my state. However, on the application you can ask for three months retroactive from the date of application if you have medical bills. You will also have to show that you qualified as to income and asset levels in each of those three retroactive months, just as you do in the month of supplication.

Not in my experience in MN. As Shane stated below, they are rigid about due dates. So, as soon as you get mail from their office, open it and do what it requests immediately. I you miss their deadline you will be asked to resubmit it all. If they come back asking for more proofs, you have about a week to respond. Also, once you qualify and are a recipient, you will need to reapply every year at the same time you did originally. Even if you have 0 assets except SS and nothing changes from year to year.

Go to your states Medicaid website and search. Every state can be different.
The website will provide directions & forms to fill out. As far as retro I don’t think that will fly. The date begins with when you submit the application.

You can’t backdate the form for coverage. Believe me they will check. You also have to submit lots of financial information with the application.
