My mom is 88, lives with us. Her dementia has really ramped up over the past few months. She doesn't have a great deal of money, around $100,000. She moved from WV to Tennessee one year ago.

Would Tenncare possible help? Any advice would be appreciated.

Find Care & Housing
No. They do pay for a nursing home, however when the funds are used up.

Very rarely some memory care facilities will accept Medicaid after the resident has used their funds in their care, but that is rare.

A Board and Care may accept Medicaid funds.
You will need to call each facility, unfortunately, in your area to find out for yourself.

Along with her Social Security, her funds will last her some little time. Then it will either be a transfer once on Medicaid, or acceptance of those funds by the facility.

No, Medicare does not cover MC, but I think you're asking about Medicaid. That is state-specific but usually doesn't cover MC, only nursing homes. Mom will have to spend down almost all of that $100k before they'll pay though.
