Find Care & Housing
Afew ideas that immediately come to mind are maybe your moms previous Doc can refer you to someone, check to see if your city or a large nearby city has a council on aging, the one in my city has great resources, google search for alzheimers docs in your area, take her to the E.R. for evaluation.
I wish you well, let us know how it goes for you.

Asking the people I work with is a good start...most everyone has a senior in their family.
Also, call the "advice nurse" at your hospital and ask lots of questions, like, "who would you trust with your Mother's care?," "who takes time with their patients?" etc...
Social workers at your local hospitals may also help. They usually want to give you generic advice, but keep asking those good questions and they will finally give you a few names.
As a last resort and, just until you find someone else, you may want to take your Dad to an immediate care facility. I have had good experiences with ours. They get you right in, they are great for minor illnesses, and you can at least get the Rxs renewed.
I get an immediate "vibe" about a new doctor the minute I call their office. If the office staff is friendly, courteous, and helpful, usually the doctor has instructed them to be that way and cares about his/her patients. If I get someone nasty on the phone, or if it takes forever to get an appt., I move on.
There are so many doctors out there who are great, it is just a challenge finding them!
