Find Care & Housing
I think you might both be too young generally. Your post is very brief. The most help you might get is possibly meal service. If you need help at home you could look into assistance for that. What is the main issue you need? Obviously the illness you are dealing with is sad but perhaps treatable depending on how, where and to what extent the cancer has returned. If you still have questions perhaps you could provide more specific details as to your potential needs.

It would be cheaper to live elsewhere. Do you understand that independent living is just that? Independent. No assistance.

Many Independent Living communities have a minimum age requirement of 62. Where as retirement communities, min age usually is 55. Both are for active adults. IL facilities usually do not provide any sort of medical assistance.

Thats a question you need to ask the Adminstrator at the facility. Some places are Communities. IL, then AL and finally LTC. Like Senior Apts where I live are 55 or 62 years old.

What would you be wanting to get from an Independent Living Community you are not getting where you currently live?

Is it more nursing help for your Husband? Or maybe more support for you?
