Do we still need to wear our masks when the aide is here?

They have no idea how effective this vaccine will be or how long it will last. It was manufactured too fast to know the long term effects. You maybe able to still contract it but just not get as sick. Just like the flu shot. Plus you aren't protected right away. The antibodies have to build up.

I would ask the aide to continue to wear a mask. Mom too. When its just the 3 of you, no need to.

I think that if you all are comfortable with not wearing a mask, as you're all vaccinated, then you shouldn't wear your masks. It's your house, so I feel you should be able to do whatever you see fit. To me it kind of defeats the purpose of getting the vaccine, if we all still have to wear our masks afterwards. Use your common sense here, as we all should be doing.

My mother is fully vaccinated and her nurse that visits once a week is as well. We all continue to wear our masks at home and when out and about. I am not taking any chances with my 98 year old mother and the rest of us.

You're right about different approaches, some of which are contradictory.   Then add in the nonmedical online sites and it's even more confusing.

My position is that I want maximum protection, and wearing a mask isn't so inconvenient that it isn't worth NOT masking to get a higher level of protection.

And remember that you don't know the condition of others where your aide may be in contact with someone who isn't properly masking.
