I am a caregiver for my Mother. She has a long term care insurance policy so she will not be applying for Medicaid if and when the time comes for her to go into a Nursing home. Will the agreement be need d for any other reason other than Medicaid. I have 5 siblings and there have been no disagreements at this point. I have been her caregiver since the first of this year. I just found out about the caregiver agreement. I only ask for reimbursable expenses and do not charge for my services. Pro's and con's?

Charge for your services. Get a care agreement. There is no disagreement with your siblings At This Point ... and it is amazing how inequitable distribution of even small amounts of money can spoil good relationships. Why should 5 adult children contribute nothing to Mother's care, and 1 do all the caregiving? Take a reasonable payment, and that puts you on equal footing again.
