Find Care & Housing
Thanks so much for posting this article -- I've never heard of daughterhood circles or the .org website, I'm going to contact them to possibly start one in our state.

Segoline, thanks for the article.

Wonderful idea. The only thing I know for myself, I wouldn't have even known there was such a group if one was in my immediate area. I know there were times when I didn't even read the local paper [which is the Wash Post] because I was just too darn busy or too tired. In fact, I didn't even see the article above in the hard-copy yesterday or today, so it must have been on-line only. And I rarely read on-line newspapers.

Finding these groups isn't easy.... It's not like we are taking an elderly parent out for a walk around the neighborhood and coming up on another grown child taking their parent out for a walk. So different compared to young parents with their children, meeting going around the block.

All type of communication is important. I am not on social media, but do check my mailbox, the old fashioned one outside in front of my house. If it comes through the mail, I see it.

Wow, that is exactly what I wished I had available while I was caregiving, although I wouldn't necessarily restrict it to women. In the last couple of years I have discovered that there is so much elder care going on that is mostly invisible and not discussed, even among my own social circle. AgingCare and the internet were my salvation but it would be so helpful to have access to people who are experienced with local issues. I'm not the kind of person to start such a group but I could be an enthusiastic booster if there was one here.
