My Dad won't wait to go to the bathroom, unzips and urinates in all the wrong places! Any advice?

My 89 year old dad moved in with us 9 years ago and up until about 5 months ago was doing ok. Then he started having incontinence problems. He has transitioned to Depends very well as far as not fighting to wear them. My problem is he will not wait to go to the bathroom. He will unzip his pants and pull out his penis and urinate where ever he is, kitchen, bedroom, bathroom and when I'm lucky almost in the toilet. At night he will get out of bed and go right beside the bed and has even gone on the bed. I try to keep a close watch on him and catch him before he goes, but there are times during the day I am in another part of the house busy and he gets up and i don't know it. There are some days that I have to change him 4 or 5 times as his clothes are wet. Is there anyway to keep him contained until I can get him to the toilet? Any suggestions for at night? I don't know if a bed side commode would work as I am not sure he would know what it is for or could remember to use it.
