Check with VA to see if your mom qualifies for a portion of your dads VA benefits. My SIL was receiving a portion of her deceased husbands VA benefits for several years. It was not Aid and Attendance but rather from his disability pension. She was in her 50s when he passed and she was able to continue receiving at least a portion of it as his widow.
