I am considering it since most of Mom's money is in a retirement account...thoughts??

They notify you anytime someone tries to access your credit report. However, when we were refinancing the house we had to unfreeze the reports for a while. I have heard advertisements for LifeLock, but I have no experience with it.

What I did was freeze my credit reports, that way no one can go into my credit and pretend to me to get new credit cards, buy a car, or get a mortgage.

The freezes are around $10 for each of the 3 credit bureaus [some States they are free] to freeze, and $10 to unfreeze for whatever reason. Very simple to do once you are on the credit bureau websites.
