I have located a "Congregate Senior Living" place in Syracuse, NY. I need to move from independent living to a place with minimal assistance (moving toward more assistance later) since I am going blind.

I would like to find a "congregate senior housing" place in Ithaca, NY, since that is much closer to my daughter and her family. How can I locate a congregate living facility in Ithaca, NY?

The Congregate Senior Housing in Syracuse is owned and operated by the Loretto, a Syracuse, non-profit organization. I know no one in Ithaca (now), but would like to search from a short distance. I can still drive my car, so could come to visit, discuss whatever, and make arrangements in Ithaca.

Thanks for your help.

Charlane W.

I qualify for HUD assistance, and Medicaid meeting all NY requirements, so I need to find a place with similar funding structure.

"Congregate" is the name of a company, not a type of housing. Talk to your caseworker about what is available within your county.
