Have any of you combined Aricept and Namenda for your loved one successfully?

My husband is currently on Aricept (he is in early stage dementia) and neurologist wants to add the Namenda but I have read mixed reviews of its success and hate to add another drug if its not worth it.

Dad was on Aricept for awhile, and then when they moved in here his agitation got much worse. They added Namenda and it was a godsend! Now 8 months later we sometimes have problems with him getting worked up over things, they just added Seriquell (Spelling) as needed for this. He got all worked up tonight over selling the house, etc. Mom gave him his first pill.. within an hour he he was all calmed down and ready to go to bed. so that made him sleepy, but it;s better than all upset and angry in my opinion! So try the Namenda, if it works for you , that is wonderful (it was for us). If not, stop it!

Go to the upper right corner where it says "Search Site" and type in "Aricept Namenda", enter, and you will see several Q&A entries
