Whether it is over her meds or bathing, eating or wanting to go to the store everyday...it is a fight...unless she is eating ice cream she is not happy. Could anyone help me with these behaviors as to what stage this is? How to help eleviate these behaviors? I am at my wits end. The last 3 nights I have found her outside at night. Once looking for a cat, that we do not have ...once sitting in the car waiting to go to church and we were late, but she had to change because she was playing in water...which she wasn't she was in bed...it just seems to never end. I'm so glad I found this site! It's relieving to know I'm not the only one dealing with this!

Find Care & Housing
Those are symptoms that I saw in the mid stages 4-6. I think that was the toughest time as a caregiver. You may need help at night or get an alarm that signals you when she gets out of bed, or opens her bedroom door, or opens the outside door. I have heard some pretty scary stories of night (or even day) wandering. We have a baby monitor with video...and mom's room is right next to our and the house is not too big ;-) As challenging as this stage is, there will come a day when you wish she could do those things again. I know that doesn't help while you are going through it.

During those trying times, I watched and read Teepa Snow and Naomi Feil stuff. I also spent a lot if evenings on this site and the Alzheimer's association site. Much peace on your journey.
