Are children of veterans eligible for any type of benefits or is it just the spouse?

My father was in the army back in the 50's and when my parents divorced she didn't want to have anything to do with him, so she may not have even WANTED to deal with potential VA benefits for HER. I've never heard of children (well, grown children) of veterans being able to receive any assistance.
