I have a Hoyer lift at home. My mother-in-law is wheelchair bound with advanced Parkinson's and her legs hurt her. Is there a way to put a diaper on without rolling her side to side? Someone told me there is a Hoyer sling where you could put the diaper down first, then the patient, then pull the diaper up through the hole in the sling. However, the hole in my sling isn't big enough for that. Is there a type of sling that accommodates for diapers in this way? I'm trying to eliminate some of the rolling back and forth as it is painful for her.

Look for Lavin Lift Straps. The straps go around each leg and then attach to the Hoyer and then the lift arm is raised and it lifts the lower portion of the body up off the bed. The brief (diaper) can then be changed and the position allows for easy cleaning as well.
There are other lift straps available.
You could also use a “split leg” sling for the Hoyer the top is like a normal sling but the bottom portion is 2 long strips. I cross crossed them when lifting my Husband it was more secure that way but allowed me to change him
