I am new to caring. I have x3 elderly clients all over 90 who live in their own home. One lady likes to think she is independent but never leaves home and has carers because she has been hospitalised through not looking after herself. Today, as I tried to make conversation ( my job as a companion/befirender) she tore my head off saying, amongst other things, I was stupid and say stupid things that no-body wanted to hear and why didn't I sit quiet and read something while she read her paper, she wanted total silence so not was not allowed to do any light chores but had to sit there reading for well over an hour 30 minutes- I had two hours with her and found it very awkward. even though I complied and was as pleasant as possible throughout. What shall I do from here?
