My caregiver is always putting me down. She tells me nobody likes me including my family. I am elderly and in a wheelchair, in a group home. The provider just seems to take their side. She just seems to put me down more if I say anything. Is there anything I can do?

Teaspoon, yes there is something you can do, break your lease and move to a new facility. Since you are able to get onto this website, you can do a search to find another location. Then move forward.

And get a new Power of Attorney if your current Power of Attorney is one of the family members who keeps putting you down. You don't even need to elect a family member to be your Power of Attorney, you can ask your Elder Law Attorney for suggestions.
