Same question every day, "Where's Mom?" I'm at a loss. I don't know how to answer, my loved one calls me a liar. Can anyone help me?

I agree with both JoAnn and vegaslady. If I had it all to do over again, I would just tell my mother therapeutic lies instead of trying to explain things. Also, I would use a lot more distraction. These two approaches will help keep you sane, more calm and they are often kinder techniques for the patient too! Trust me, with dementia/alzheimer's you will never be able to satisfy them anyway. Dealt with this for several years and wish someone had pounded that in me while traveling the journey.

I am assuming wife has Dementia. If so telling her the truth is not going to help. Your wife may be a child in her mind. Does she know u as her husband or just a familiar face. My Mom got to a childhood stage. No children no husband. Looking back I think she thought I was her Mom. As said, you may have to fib. Moms at work. Moms out for the day. Her short term memory loss will not allow her to remember from day to day what you said. Sometimes not minute to minute.
