If he or she is terminal, hospice care may be a better option. The hospital may have palliative care which is comfort care, so they may be able to make life easier. I wouldn't think the family could force a person to go to the hospital, unless the person is mentally incapable of making decisions. I hope this person will seek out comfort care of some kind, however. Carol
