It would depend on which drug was prescribed. For example, Ditropan is often used for urinary incontinence but can impair thinking (confusion). The same with Amitriptyline, a tricyclic anti-depressant that can make you confused, lightheaded, etc. If the person is in mid to late stage dementia, I don't believe that it would be appropriate to use medication to control involuntary urination.
Could you give more info on the person? Did the doctor recommend it?
