My mom has dementia and needs 24 hr care. Seems like medical will only cover care if she's in a long term facility vs assisted living. I don't feel that her care requires her to be in a nursing home/long term facility. Are there any assisted living facilities in North San Diego that will accept Medical payments?

Usually ALs do not except Medicaid. Where I live, they may if you have paid at least 2 years privately and ran out of money. May meaning, they haven't already hit the % they allow for Medicaid.

You need to call the facilities in your area and ask if they take Medicaid.

MediCal, California version of Medicaid? Medicare does not cover any sort of facility living except rehab, post hospitalization.

She is in California? Someone will come along with more information about MediCal.
