Seek out legal advice before you do anything like this. Your ability to sell his house depends on the authorizations given in the PoA. If it's a DURABLE PoA that means you can make decisions on almost anything regarding your ex. Keep in mind, as PoA in most states you have an obligation NOT to take advantage of his situation. While you're not obligated to pay his bills with your personal funds, you do have an obligation to ensure that his assets are used to provide for his care.
