Find Care & Housing
birgit, your friend was placed into a facility because he now needed a village to look after him.

You say sign him out.... where would he go? Were you his primary caregiver at his home or he was with you? Why was he initially placed in this facility, or that he already in a facility and had to move to a section where he would get more care?

As worriedinCali had mentioned, it can take time for someone to adjust to their new surroundings. All the new sights and sounds. Plus the food taste different. All these new faces, etc.

Yes you can but honestly it is not at all unusual for there to be a decline in the first few weeks. There is also an adjustment period. You need to give it more than a week. Your profile says the elder has Parkinson’s so chances are, you will only disrupt him and cause further decline if you move him. My fil was placed in a facility 2.5-3 weeks ago and has declined. After thinking about it, I realized that he’s no longer getting out of bed and all the medications he was on have been discontinued.
