Are there any agencies that would pay my husband to do home healthcare for me? I have a letter from my doctor saying I need it and recommending my husband. He has been helping me for 9 years now as osteoarthritis in my back and knees have really affected my mobility over the last 9 - 10 years as it has progressed. I trust him. He could work part time and be with me part of the day.

Kittyann, have you talked to a social worker regarding programs that might be available in your state? I don't know of any federal program that pays spouses for care, but your state or county may have grants for specific purposes. Your best bet, I think, is to call the county Human Services department and ask for a needs assessment.
