You can hire anyone unless they’re contracted to not work for you, ie your former agency help.

Not from this page, you can't.
We are just a bunch of caregivers.
Now if you are asking if you can hire someone, the answer is almost certainly a resounding yes.
Look in your area online for whatever kind of help you want or need.
There are agencies such as Visiting Angels and many others that have caregivers. Care.com is also another place to start. You are going to find that some agencies charge more than an individual but they have often vetted their workers and they cover insurance and workman's comp. They also often have minimums such as requiring that you use them at least three times a week for at least four hours each time. This bumps up the cost a lot. Currently dependent on where you live, expect 30 to 35 an hour.

If you want you can post an ad in NextDoor specifying (and specificity is the key) just what KIND of help you want and for how many hours daily or weekly, and for how much an hour.

For instance a recent ad from nextdoor in my own area that went something like this:
"Need shopping help and transportation once weekly for drive to Trader Joe's. Need help with carrying groceries up one story. Estimate travel, shopping and unpacking time up to three hours. Able to pay 25.00 an hour."

You are here, so we know you can use the internet: Look up such things as "Nurse Aid in ________" (whatever town you are in).
Consider calling your local council on aging, your doctor office, and etc.

I wish you good luck. There are some ad sponsors on this Forum itself that may be of interest to you; if so, click on their pages, but do understand that as to this Forum itself we're just a bunch of current and ex-caregivers trying to advise folk.
