Find Care & Housing
My POA for my mom entitles me to use her money for my travel expenses (flight, hotel, car) when I have to take care of her business in person. It doesn’t give me an hourly wage or anything. This was confirmed for me by consulting her attorney, who did her legal documents, whose fee I also paid for with her money.

Slart, is it spelled out in the document or is it because you are not enriching yourself and only reimbursing your expenses?

In AZ it is the latter, so I am curious about this. Thanks!

Your POA, if well written, will dictate if/how much you can be paid. You will have better luck paying OTHERS through POA to do these tasks and chores and that will avoid any accusations, if the is troublesome family watching you, of "self-enrichment". This is a big no-no when you are serving as POA.

If you are confused by the obligations and duties of being POA do some research online internet for your state under duties of POA. It is important to fully understand your rights and obligations. You can also buy an hour of consultation with an Elder Law Attorney. THIS is paid for by your elder, as part of having someone do POA duties for them.
