Find Care & Housing
Most state assume that children will care for their parents out of the goodness of their hearts and do not have in place any way to pay them. California seems to be an exception if you live there.

However, if your parents will write up and sign an agreement to pay you, as an employee, out of their own funds, then that is one way to do it. You or they would need to deduct and pay the appropriate taxes. That will cover you in case they need to apply for Medicaid and have a lookback period of time. The payments would be accounted for and not considered to be gifting money.

The VA has a program for veterans, but it takes a while to get all the paperwork done and you are talking about a short period of time, I take it.
