There are 2 ways to be paid: privately or publicly. Privately: does your friend have funds to pay you? You can be paid just as if you were hired from an agency for an hourly, daily or weekly amount for the care you give. Publicly: does your friend qualilfy and receive assistance from Medicaid? In this case there are a limited number of states that will pay a friend or family member to for care. It is a small some but could be helpful. You need to look up division of aging in the county you live for someone who can help. There are a lot of posts on this site discussing this site. Search "money and lega", then "paying for care". I am sure your friend is very appreciative.
