Find Care & Housing
In the state of PA the care agencies advertise that they will train and hire people who can then be caregivers to a friend or LO. They get benefits. Call around to care agencies and see if they do this in ur State. Medicaid has homecare services. Not sure if they would pay u. Something u need to find out.
Call ur County Office of Aging and see if they are aware of any programs.

keep in mind, With the program in PA, the friend still has to PAY the agency and it will probably cost a lot more than if the friend hires the OP directly. The agencies that provide training don’t provide free homecare.

They or you can draw up a Caregiver contract detailing what you will do, how long you will work and any other important information.
They can pay you.
I would suggest that they take out taxes so you are not hit with a problem come time to file your taxes. This also proves that they are paying you if there is any question later "where did the money go" when and if Medicaid has to be applied for

Certainly, the family could hire you - or anyone they want - as a caregiver and pay you.

Are there more details to the situation that might influence our answers though?
